Stanley and Garth, both disabled veterans who were unable to drive, faced daily limitations simply getting out into their community. That changed when our team member Charles delivered motorized scooters, giving them the freedom to travel.

At 89 years old, Air Force veteran Daniel was living in his vehicle with his dog when it broke down recently, putting both of them at immediate risk. We transported Daniel to an assistive care shelter, arranged for his vehicle to be towed and repaired (preventing it from being impounded) and secured a foster home for his dog while a permanent housing solution is determined.

Army veteran Jacky was living under a bridge at a public beach. The GCVF team acted immediately and moved Jacky into a safe motel room, providing food support, and helping stabilize her during a critical moment.

Amanda, a client of our Mobile Veteran Outreach program, was living in her RV in a library parking lot when she reached out for help. Our team stepped in to replace her battery, helping restore a sense of stability and security. During the visit, Amanda also gratefully accepted additional supplies to support her day-to-day needs.

Sharon, an Air Force veteran in our community, was facing homelessness. Today, she is safely housed in Santa Paula—settled into a neighborhood she loves, right across from a beautiful park.

Felix, a veteran resident of Ventura Springs, made the decision to trade in his car keys and driver’s license for a mobility scooter. GCVF provides free medical and mobility equipment to veterans and their spouses.
