Benefits
Navigation
See GCVF calendar for VSO service dates and times.
Benefits Navigation
Navigating the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs can be daunting—especially for homeless
or at-risk veterans. GCVF hosts a weekly Veterans Services Officer (VSO) at our Camarillo office to help veterans apply for and secure their earned benefits.
Veteran clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, with sign-ups beginning early in the morning. The building opens at 7:00am.
Transportation
Assistance
Door-to-door rides for medical and essential appointments
Transportation Assistance
Staff and volunteers are often able to provide door-to-door transportation for medical, dental, and job interview appointments, particularly for veterans with mobility challenges. For complex needs, we collaborate with a veteran-owned medical transport provider.

Mobile Veterans Outreach
Direct, in-person support for homeless and at-risk veterans.
Mobile Veteran Outreach
Our MVO program reaches the most vulnerable homeless veterans—those living on the streets, in cars, or campsites. GCVF caseworkers conduct in-person outreach to provide immediate assistance, including food, transportation, and housing support. Many referrals come from law enforcement, partner organizations, and fellow veterans in crisis.

Food
Security
Groceries and food deliveries for veterans in need.
Food Security
We assist veterans in accessing nutritious food by providing transportation to grocery stores and the Manna Food Bank in Thousand Oaks. For housebound veterans or those with special dietary needs, volunteers and staff deliver food directly to their homes.

Medical & Mobility Equipment
Wheelchairs, walkers, ramps, and home modifications
Medical & Mobility Equipment
GCVF supplies essential medical and mobility aids such as wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and lifts to veterans in need. Volunteers also build accessibility ramps and modify homes when required.
