U.S. Navy veteran Jerry had been living in his Ventura apartment for a year and a half when he reached out to GCVF for a few furniture pieces to make his apartment feel more like home.

Around the same time, a community member offered to donate furniture that had belonged to his late mother. As it turned out, several of those pieces were exactly what Jerry needed.

Our volunteer Spencer and team member Charles picked up a pair of upholstered chairs and a small dresser and delivered them directly to Jerry. But the story didn't end there. The chairs didn't match, so Jerry gave one to his fellow veteran Patrick, who had just moved into the apartment downstairs. One donation. Two veterans supported.
