Sandy, a Homeless Widow of a Vietnam Veteran

Dear Supporters of Ventura County Veterans,

As we continue to navigate the fluid situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus), our Mobile Veteran Outreach (MVO) team is out to ensure the safety of as many homeless veterans and their families with whom we can make contact during these challenging times.

One of those people for whom we’re looking out is Sandy, the homeless widow of a Vietnam veteran. Not long after losing Jack, a Navy veteran and the love of her life, she lost the home they shared for a long time. Our MVO team was able to find her affordable housing, but because of the security deposit and initial rent, she currently cannot move into her new apartment.

We have launched a GoFundMe not only to help Sandy move into her new apartment, but more importantly, save her life by protecting her health from the existing dangers of homelessness.

Please take a minute to read Sandy’s story. If you can help her with any contribution, or even by sharing her story with your family and friends, we would greatly appreciate it. No amount is too small to ensure Sandy’s safety during these challenging times!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at our Veterans Connection office.
