CalVet secretary leaves Ventura County legacy
Californians lost an influential leader and caring veteran last week.
California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) Secretary Dr. Vito Imbasciani, issued the following statement on Tuesday regarding the death of Maj. Gen. Roger Brautigan, U.S. Army, Retired: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of former Acting Secretary Roger Brautigan, an exemplary military leader and a defining presence at CalVet, who dedicated his career to our nation’s military and Veterans. His legacy includes opening our California veterans homes in Lancaster, Ventura and West Los Angeles. We are grateful for his service to our veterans, the state of California, and our nation.”
