Do you want to volunteer your time to make a difference in the life of a veteran? We would love to have your help! Our organization is built on the efforts of many volunteers who are passionate about helping veterans here in Ventura County.

Currently we are looking for the following volunteers:

Office Assistant

Experienced volunteer office assistants are needed for Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday afternoons. You will answer phones and greet visitors. You will also research online veteran information. We request that you are experienced in answering phone calls. Some proficiency in Microsoft Office is very helpful.

Volunteer and Events Assistant

If you like working events we can use your help!! Please contact us if you want to assist our volunteer and events coordinator with organizing events. Experience with organizing events is helpful, but not required. We request that you are dependable and organized. Some proficiency in Microsoft Office is very helpful.

Volunteer Truck Drivers

Items are sometimes donated to our non-profit organization for veterans. We need help transporting household items, such as, chairs, sofas, desks, tables, refrigerators, scooters, etc., to veterans homes.  If you own a truck and are available to transport any of these items within Ventura County, we would appreciate your help.  

Volunteer Veteran Writers

If you are a veteran and have an inspirational story to share with other veterans about how your military service has positively influenced your life, please contact us! Other veterans would like to read inspirational stories to connect with.  You can either write at home or in our office.

Grant Writing Assistant

If you have experience in grant writing and want to help acquire grants for veteran programs, we need your help! As a volunteer, you will research of funding sources for grants, draft grant proposals, and research statistics for proposals. Please contact us for more info. Some work may be performed from home.

Donor Relations Specialist

Work with staff and volunteers on fundraising projects throughout the year. Research individual donor & foundation prospects, aid in the production of mailing and electronic outreach, and work with database to maintain and update donor records.

Veterans Resource Coordinator

The Veterans Resource Coordinator is the person veterans meet with to find the services they need. The Veteran Resource Coordinator creates a personal connection with veterans looking for assistance and follows up to determine additional needs. For instance, if a veteran has recently separated from the military, the Veterans Resource Coordinator will schedule appointments with a Veterans Administration claims representative or counselor, review the veteran’s resume and assist with finding a job, discuss educational opportunities with universities, colleges or employers, and show the veteran how to find out about local events available to them.
